‘Unscheduled absences’ impacting bus service to CFP game

SANTA CLARA — “Unscheduled operator absences” are impacting bus service throughout Santa Clara County, including to and from tonight’s College Football Playoff National Championship game at Levi’s Stadium, according to the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority.

The absences follow a long weekend of events, said authority spokeswoman Brandi Childress.

“We are doing our best to serve our customers under the circumstances and focused on providing service information to both regular customers and our guests here for the College Football Championship Game,” she said.

Childress said the VTA will resume service on Line 251 after the game.

Light rail continues to be the best option for those heading home from the game, according to the authority.

Express bus service is not impacted.

VTA customer service representatives are available until 7 p.m. for personalized trip plans at 408-321-2300. Real-time schedule information is also available through the authority’s Transit app.
